The quality of early years provision is higher than it has ever been, with 94 percent of providers graded good or outstanding, due mostly to a rise in the proportion of providers graded as good. The government has pledged to plough £50m into bolstering early years provision in disadvantaged areas, as part of an action plan to improve social mobility.
